Daryl Wood is well known for giving no-nonsense straight forward answers, despite many prosecutors' attempts to complicate a criminal matter. When your freedom is at stake, you don't need an evasive attorney, you need answers.

His candid approach is refreshing in a profession known to avoid giving straight answers. After three years of specializing in criminal law as a sole practitioner, Daryl Wood joined the Law Offices of Raymond A. Cassar, PLC. He represents clients, throughout the state of Michigan, on all types of felonies and misdemeanors. Mr. Wood is particularly well versed with respect to the latest drunk driving laws and driver's license restoration issues. He has appeared at numerous Drivers' License Appeal Division (DLAD) hearings across the state and countless Circuit Court restoration hearings. His article, Issue Spotting a Driver's License Restoration was published in the State Bar Journal's September 2009 issue and the Detroit Legal News. Mr. Wood has been a presenter with the Institute of Continuing Legal Education on DLAD Hearings. He has been a present on Driver's License Restoration for the Institution of Continuing Legal Education and for the State Bar of Michigan. When attorneys have questions about Driver's License Restorations, they call Mr. Wood.

In order to provide his clients with the best possible criminal defense, Mr. Wood continually attends legal seminars to stay apprised of the latest developments/changes in our criminal laws. In fact, Daryl Wood authored a brochure entitled, "What you should do if you are arrested for drunk driving." This informative pamphlet describes in detail who should and shouldn't submit to police breath tests, the effects on your driving privileges, your rights and when to exercise them. It is a snapshot of the changes in the drunk driving laws that went into effect in October of 1999.

Additional areas of study completed by Mr. Wood include, scientific evidence, demonstrative evidence, Michigan law updates and Supreme Court updates. He has taught cross-examination techniques for handlers of drug sniffing dogs.

Daryl Wood completed his undergraduate studies at Eastern Michigan University and is a graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Wood started his professional career as an intern in the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. Since becoming an attorney in 1996, he has successfully represented clients in a wide spectrum of criminal matters including, drunk driving, license restoration, drug offenses, prostitution, accosting and soliciting, assault and battery, theft charges, weapons offenses, and search and seizure. If it is possible to get a criminal record expunged, Daryl Wood can make it happen.

There have been dramatic changes to the Michigan Sex Offender Registry. Mr. Wood has been following the changes and has successfully removed and kept some of his clients of the Michigan Sex Offender Registry list with his knowledge and expertise.

Daryl Wood is a first rate attorney, with years of experience behind him. He is the former mayor of the city of Keego Harbor and a member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan.
